Glasvegas line up national tour

Hotly-tipped Glaswegian band Glasvegas have announced that a new national tour will kick off in Birmingham at the end of August.

After being spotted by Alan McGee two years ago, Glasvegas have received major press exposure in the run up to the release of their self-titled debut album, out on September 8th.

The band will kick off a 16-date UK tour at Birmingham Barfly on August 27th, before playing gigs in Liverpool, Sheffield, Leeds, Manchester and London - ending at Nottingham Rescue Rooms on September 25th.

Glasvegas are also down to perform at a number of festivals next month, including Reading and Leeds and London's Underage Festival.

Meanwhile, heavy metal pioneers Metallica are to celebrate the launch of their new album by playing intimate club nights in Berlin and London in September.

Open to fans registered on their website, the London gig will be on September 15th at an as-yet-undisclosed location.
