Heaton announces Birmingham, Leeds gigs

24th Jun 2008

One of British music's most iconic figures is to play gigs in Birmingham and Leeds next month to celebrate the release of his latest album.

Paul Heaton - formally of The Housemartins and The Beautiful South - is to promote his new solo album The Cross Eyed Rambler with a gig at Birmingham's intimate Academy 2 venue next Thursday, July 3rd.

The popular vocalist - who has had number one hits with Caravan of Love and A Little Time - will then take his show to the Leeds Cockpit on July 5th, before also visiting London Islington Academy and playing a number of festivals across the summer.

Heaton will return to his current home town of Manchester - about which he wrote a song with The Beautiful South - on July 4th.

The Cross Eyed Rambler is Heaton's 14th studio album but the first in his solo career.
