Hip hop legends to lay Roots in Manchester

Grammy award-winning hip hop and jazz rap combo The Roots have announced they are to play a special gig in Manchester later this year.

The Def Jam-signed act - who have been instrumental in the growth of rap and hip hop on the east coast of the US since forming in 1987 - will play a gig at Manchester Academy on December 2nd.

Following their appearance in the north-west, The Roots - most famous for their 1999 worldwide hit album Things Fall Apart - will travel south to play a gig at Bristol Academy on December 3rd.

Meanwhile, singer songwriter Jeremy Warmsley has also announced that he will play a gig in Manchester later this year.

The half-English, half-French folktronica artist will play Night and Day on October 14th, amid a UK tour taking in gigs in Birmingham, Bedford and London.ADNFCR-1603-ID-18699249-ADNFCR
