8th Jul 2008
London-based hillbilly rockers Mumford & Sons will be taking to the stage in Birmingham later this week. The four-piece will be showcasing their Americana, bluegrass, folksy sound at the Glee Club on July 10th, complete with banjo, double bass and a fine array of fashionable headgear.
Having started out in the autumn of last year, the band is building a strong following and has already played the Glastonbury Festival this summer.
The Birmingham performance will be the culmination of a short UK tour, which will see the group play in London, Glasgow and Manchester this week before they head off down under for a series of shows in Australia.
Mumford & Sons are named after and led by their lead singer and guitar player Marcus Mumford and they have been given a number of glowing reviews in recent weeks, while their tune Roll Away Your Stone has been named song of the week on BBC Radio 2.
