Chibuku Shake Shake and Circus release statement regarding closure of The Masque

Following The Masque's announcement on Monday night that they would be closing down, regular nights Chibuku Shake Shake and Circus have reassured fans that their events will still go ahead.

Following The Masque's announcement on Monday night that they would be closing down, regular nights Chibuku Shake Shake and Circus have reassured fans that their events will still go ahead. 

The iconic Liverpool venue announced via a series of tweets on Monday 27th November that they would be ceasing trading with immediate effect. The tweets read: “It comes with great sadness that we have to announce The Masque has ceased trading as from today. All shows are now cancelled or moved. You are entitled to a refund from your ticket providers. Thanks for the support you have shown over the years and for being our friend, we’ll miss you!”

However, regular Masque nights Chibuku Shake Shake and Circus have today stated that 'all purchased tickets for Circus Boxing Day and Chibuku NYE remain 100% valid' and 'rest assured, the shows will go on'

The full statement is below: 

"We will be releasing an update for Circus Boxing Day and Chibuku NYE shortly with regard to recent goings on at The Masque.

"Please do not believe the hype, rumours or wanton gossip circulating the city and beyond – we will definitively inform you in the next few days.

"Please note all purchased tickets for Circus Boxing Day and Chibuku NYE remain 100% valid.

"And rest assured, the shows will go on.

"Big love, Chibuku and Circus xxx"
