Unless you've been hiding under a rock for the past few years, you'll know all about Diynamic if you dig dance music. The label has spearheaded that kind of groove heavy, melody drenched house music that has been omnipresent at dancefloors across the globe in recent times. Whilst the label head honcho Solomun ensnares most of the plaudits, it's his band of label mates which have ensured the supply has been rapidly backing him up at very juncture.
One of these is H.O.S.H, the Hamburg reared starlet who has been a fixture of the label since it's inception in 2008. His productions have seen him utilise classic song based grooves with delightful percussion (as evidenced on 'What do you want em to say?' above), as well as more underground bass led rumblers, with support form Pete Tong, Tensnake, Dixon, Yousef and more along the way.
He's among the Diynamic representatives when the imprint hits Leeds this weekend, taking centre stage in the city's newest club Control alongside Solomun and Stimming on friday 4th October. We decided to catch up with him ahead of the show
Are you looking forward to playing at Diynamic’s arrival at Leeds? What do you think makes the night so special?
Since I am coming with the family, this it what makes it special already to me. Besides that i am excited to come lo Leeds!
What can we expect from your set there?
Love, surprises and a good flow!
How do you think your sound has developed since you began in ‘06?
My sound is changing constantly I must say - this is very important to me. Electronic music for me is more a movement which is about change and cutting corners and being edgy.
The Diynamic imprint has been responsible for some of the best house music in recent years. How did you get involved with it and how do you think it’s impacted the scene?
I leave this judge up to others. Ive been one of the first members at Diynamic together with Solomun and Stimming. We connected well from the very off and formed a bound which has become even stronger throughout the years. This is our true strength in my opinion.
Where have you enjoyed playing recently?
The Ibiza season just finished and besides that I've been playing all over Europe in the summer. I just returned from Brazil and next up are further international tours. We will also hit BPM for the first time with the whole crew this year, which was fun.
What remixes and productions have you released recently, and what can we look forward to hearing from you?
Production wise I had a busy summer. Things started out great with the remix i did for Sono's classic 'Keep Control' (watch the video to this remix above). Also i released already 3 EP´s of a Quadrology called Forever Young on Diynamic in the last three months. Also a remix for Marlon Hoffstadt had been released in the summer. Next up is the third Forever Young release which contains a collab with the Superhousers Andhim and remixes for Riva Starr and Soukie and Windish.
What else lies in the future for H.O.S.H?
I will move to Madrid in November and learn some Spanish. And of course, more house music!
