London restaurant chain expands to historic site
21st May 2008
A new addition to the list of restaurants in London will be opened on the site of one of the capital's most established eateries.Small London-based chain S&M Cafes is set to open a new restaurant in London in Leadenhall Market.
It will join existing S&M Cafes in Islington, Spitalfields, Greenwich and on the Portobello Road.
The new eatery will be found on the former site of Hamilton's, a London restaurant institution which has been opened for the last 40 years and has been featured in a number of films, including Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.
Stephen Bagatti, the acting agent at the company which handled the sale, commented: "This is a really attractive and historic area where most operators would go into if given the chance.
"We had lots of interest for Hamilton's and the successful party had to fight off tough competition."
S&M offers a choice of nine different sausages, including pork, leek and real ale, wild boar with apple and calvados, and tomato, mozzarella and basil.
