This weekend sees one of the UK's longest running weekly club nights, Funkademia, celebrate 17 years at the forefront of Manchester's clubbing scene with a special birthday party at its regular Mint Lounge home.

Funkademia began life as a one off club night back in Manchester in 1995, but soon grew into a weekly night which they describe as a 'chronological history of soul'. Each week their team of resident DJs play a selection of soul, funk, disco, hip-hop, house and classic RnB to a full house, with the 'sold out' signs going up around midnight

DJs such as Norman Jay, Greg Wilson and Graeme Park have graced the decks in the past, but the resident DJs are the backbone of the night. On Saturday 3rd November the duo of David Dunne and Trafford Lovething will be on birthday duties, and promise an insight into the past four decades of the finest music around. Tickets are still available here.

The podcast also features our guide to the top five events happening in across the UK over the next few weeks. Let us know what you think about this episode on Facebook at www.facebook.com/skiddleuk and buy tickets for all events here at skiddle.com
