Who do you think you are Buddhas teachings on the true nature
Do you ever wonder who you really are? Do you get stuck in limiting beliefs about who you are and what you’re capable or incapable of doing?
Usually we believe that the self that we normally perceive exists in the way that they appear to exist. If our self appears as inadequate or incapable, in that moment, we believe that to be the truth. Buddha teaches that in reality who we are very much depends on who we think we are. Believing that the self we normally see truly exists and is the centre of the universe is the root of all our fear.
Through learning Buddha’s practical insights into the nature of self, we can develop a deep confidence based on wisdom. We can start to realise that we are not fixed at all but in fact have limitless potential.
By learning the real nature of self, instead of fighting with ourselves, we can use our mental energy to gradually weaken the root of all our suffering and faults.
Meditating on the true nature of self and the true nature of reality is the path to permanent peace.
On this course Gen Jigme will skilfully explain Buddha’s profound teachings on the true nature of the self. He will explain how we can meditate on these teachings so as to gradually liberate ourselves from the root of all our fears.
You will learn practical techniques for letting go of painful states of mind by contemplating the way things really exist.
Join us for this what will be a really practical and helpful course
We are delighted to welcome Gen Kelsang Jigme to Birmingham to teach this day course.
Gen Jigme is the Resident Teacher of Bodhisattva Kadampa Meditation Centre in Brighton.
Ordained as a monk in 1997 by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, Gen Jigme has studied, practised and taught Kadampa Buddhism under Geshe Kelsang’s guidance in major Kadampa Centres throughout the UK for many years.
