AMBR is an 20-year-old contemporary singer, songwriter and musician. She is already making waves in the music industry with her uplifting and emotive vocal style and powerfully evocative Songwriting. AMBR recently appeared in The Argus in the section ‘Under The Radar’ to discuss some of the buzz she has currently created as well as appearing multiple times of various internet blogs and BIMM blogs.
As well as being a singer and songwriter AMBR also plays cello and piano which she started at age seven. Music has always been a love and passion for AMBR. “I believe that I was born to be a musician and whether that’s being a writer, performer or cellist in an orchestra as long as I get to do what I love then I really am a winner.â€
AMBR has competed for England in the International Eisteddfod Competition in both the classical and musical theatre categories, reached the semi-finals of the 2016 UK Unsigned Songwriter of the Year competition, performed to thousands of people at several festivals including London events such as the Old York Road Festival and Northcote Road Festival, and for Teenage Cancer Trust at the Brighton Marathon weekend – an event that attracts over 100,000 visitors.
Recently AMBR has been very busy performing at gigs. Gig venues include The Piano Works, London, The Blue Man, Brighton, The Green Door Store, Brighton, The Hope and Ruin, Brighton, The St Moritz Club, London to name a few. “It’s really amazing to come from a small town where there’s only one open mic night to moving to Brighton where there’s opportunities to perform everywhere! I love performing and to have played some of the great venues I have is a real privilege. I’ve recently released various singles so it’s nice to get some exposure whilst they have been coming out. At the moment I think the next step will be to release a debut EP but for now there’s still a few singles to release so we’ll see how those releases do and go from there.â€
