Biography

Beatrice Dillon was born and lives in London. Early on she studied classical guitar and then bass and drums. Recent releases include a series of tuned percussion vignettes produced in collaboration with composer Rupert Clervaux, Studies I–XVII For Samplers And Percussion; a compilation of Folkways drum pieces for The Trilogy Tapes, and a solo cassette album, Blues Dances, on Where To Now? (which will be repressed in November).

Dillon tells Maya Kalev in The Wire 369 how dance music, particularly techno, is a returning point in her work: "That’s the most interesting music now. The kind of dance music that I like tends to be made by people who sound like they’re not strictly listening to that, but that’s what they want to make.”

Studies I–XVII For Samplers And Percussion is released by Snow Dog
