Leading a new generation of female fronted bands, Eighty Eight Miles are a colourful, infectious Indie Pop/Rock collective from the Midlands, UK. With their name originating from the hit movie trilogy ‘Back To The Future’, the foundation of their music is built upon a wide variety of inspirations such as Fleetwood Mac, The Beach Boys, Blossoms, Declan McKenna and The Mamas & The Papas.
The 2024 Glastonbury Emerging Talent Contest long-listers have had notable radio recognition from various BBC Radio stations across the Midlands as well as Radio X Host John Kennedy, with their last two singles debuting on the X-Posure show as ‘X-Posure Hot Ones’.
2023 was a standout year for Eighty Eight Miles, performing at major UK festivals such as Truck Festival (for the 2nd year running), YNOT Festival, 2000 Trees and Camper Calling. They also enjoyed support slots with bands such as overpass and DAYTIME TV as well as selling out 200 and 250 capacity headline shows in Burton On Trent (Feb) and Birmingham (Oct). The band have continued this impressive run at the start of 2024, supporting the likes Red Rum Club and The K's in front of crowds of 500 and 1,500 as well as reaching the last 30 artists in semi finals of the Isle of Wight Festival: New Blood Competition where they were picked out of over 5,000 applicants. More recently, they were also part of the 90 artists long-listed for the Glastonbury Festival Emerging Talent Contest out of over 7,500 applicants.
