Mercurial DJ/ Producer, Jon Dasilva was co conspirator in defining the music policy of the seminal House club The Hacienda during acid house era and was slap bang at the centre of the early days of UK House/Techno music scene. Seminal and adventurous are also adjectives often associated with this bold producer. He has a string of cutting edge productions to his name spanning two decades on labels including Ellum Audio, Rush Hour, Soma, Mute, Deconstruction, Eskimo, Is It Balearic, and has recently been awarded "Best House Track 2012-13" at The International Dance Awards for "Love Somebody Else" by Jon Dasilva and Maceo Plex (feat. Joi Cardwell).
Dasilva's wide musical tastes and ability to work these genres into proper dance floor action also mark him out as specialist deck-master, taking his cues from the legends that inspired him, the likes of Francois Kevorkian and Ron Hardy. Considered an influence on a whole generation of DJ's from Balearic Legend, DJ Moonboots to the ubiquitous star, Sasha, Jon has nevertheless retained a freshness of approach as displayed in his recent DJ mixes where his penchant for the varied shades of techno and house as well as his keen nose for sniffing out the most interesting modern producers have been so clearly evident.
