It’s very rare in this day and age to find new pioneers who work hard day in day out to constantly push the boundaries of harder music. Hard Dance & Hardcore’s newest superstar Kutski aptly fits this title and is without doubt the most exciting cross over talent to emerge from the UK in the past decade!
With his infamous technical ability, incorporating DMC-style scratching and mixing into every
perfectly constructed set, its not difficult to see why he has earned the tag ‘the people’s favourite’, voted the UK’s No.1 hard dance dj in the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs poll and scooping up awards for ‘Best UK Hard DJ’ and ‘Outstanding Achievement’ in the Hard Dance Awards 2010 as well as best hard dance dj in the Hardcore Heaven Awards!
His weekly BBC Radio One show has grown from strength to strength reaching new heights being the very first time Hard Dance & Hardcore has had a weekly format to reach out to new audiences, an honour but also a well deserved plaudit for a true hard working professional.
This unique diversity and musical knowledge convinced DJ Magazine to approach Kutski to become their newest hard dance and hardcore column writer. Kutski also generously shares his technical and musical knowledge with the dance music community online via his Youtube Channel. Demonstrating all the latest dj equipment hardware, software, tricks of the trade and production techniques. His tutorials and other videos are clocking up tens of thousands of hits, often getting hitting the top 10 most viewed musicians on Youtube and he has recently been announced as the 97th most watched UK musician on youtube!. His channel currently has over 2,000 subscribers, which is no mean feat!
The success of these tutorials and mass online presence has caused many of the world’s largest manufacturers to get in touch and send in their latest kit or software to test out online. They include Vestax, Serato, Native Instruments, Stanton & Akai and more recently Kutski has been working alongside the world’s giants Pioneer, in product development where he joins the dance music elite alongside James Zabielia, Armin Van Buuren, Carl Cox, Eddie Halliwell and Roger Sanchez.
Kutski had an outstanding year in 2010, playing at every major festival worth their salt over the summer including Defqon One, Creamfields, Dance Valley, Global Gathering, Electrocity, Escape Into The Park, Run To The Sun, Sanctuary, Planet Love, Coloursfest and Parklife and was the only UK act to play both Defqon One in Holland and Australia! His tours included USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Poland, Holland & Germany, trips to Ayia Napa, Tenerife, Gran Canaria and Kavos as well finding time for his regular residency at Judgement Sundays in Ibiza.
2010 also saw Kutski team up with Kiddfectious King Alex Kidd for the launch of a very special concept ‘The Kidd & Kutski Experience’ which saw the duo mixing the first hard dance covermount cd on globally celebrated dance magazine Mixmag in almost a decade. Operating on a kitlist elaborate enough to excite even the most dedicated of geeks, the Kidd & Kutski Experience is technically the most ambitious project either has ever partaken.
Much more is coming from Kutski, be prepared to be amazed and you wont be far wrong.
