Mella Dee is from Doncaster, and he loves breakbeats and trainers. He first appeared on our radar as one half of Mista Men, making no frills garage and bassline house which may have been throwback, but felt like a breath of fresh air compared to the sea of overcooked post-dubstep and UK bass doing the rounds at the time.
Over the last few years, Mella’s solo work has really developed, with releases on Coyote, Omena, Manucci’s Mistress and Digital Soundboy, who released the superb ‘GT Turbo’ and his recent beat-tape Rhythm Nation Vol. 1.
