Attikk Sessions Presents: Ollie Dixon with Support from Leo HC

14+

Hagglers Corner, Sheffield

From 7:30PM

Biography

Inspired by the likes of Bon Iver, Daughter, Bears Den and Novo Amor, the solo artist is now performing as a band and joined forces with co-writer Lee Croad. The music he is creating is reverb-soaked atmospherics and warm-delayed acoustics, which blends indie acoustic folk and ambient-rock. Mixing these two genres together they have set themselves apart from the norm, creating a very unique, distinct sound.

2022 has seen the singles from the EP ‘Islands’, ‘St Agnes’ and now Harbour featured on Spotify’s Fresh Finds Folk and New Music Friday Editorial playlists and Ollie successfully securing his place on the UK live and festival circuit performing across multiple UK festivals including ‘Between the Trees Festival’ and playing the main stage at ‘Oceanfest’.

Having received support on his singles from the likes of BBC Introducing & Amazing Radio UK/USA “Islands” is setting up to be an impressive follow up EP.

“Islands” is currently hitting over 130,000 streams across Spotify and YouTube in under a year.

In the first few weeks of release “Harbour” is already landing on some very big new music playlists and secured a number 1 in the ITunes charts in Norway. Harbour has also been selected as the as the ‘Hotly Tipped’ track by the BBC Introducing in the South West and featured on the BBC Introducing best of 2022 list at the end of December 2022

Latest single Harbour has also been selected as one of the converted Fresh On The Net’s top 10 tracks where it has been described as - ‘everything slows and the otherworldliness is emphasised as enigmatic sounds drift into play. This is a track that can genuinely be called evocative’ - Fresh On The Net

There is a distinctly DIY ethos that is being developed by Ollie Dixon, who collectively with his band, is creating not only this beautiful unique sound with Islands, but his own expansive escapable world with home created merch, cover artwork and impressive music videos that represent the towns and coast lines that he calls home.

‘everything slows and the otherworldliness is emphasised as enigmatic sounds drift into play. This is a track that can genuinely be called evocative’ - Fresh On The Net

‘Ollie Dixon is musical escapism in its purest form. Akin to the likes of Ben Howard, his sea-washed roots play a pivotal part in his meloncolic yet atmospheric and soul-bearing storytelling. Without a doubt, one of the South-West’s stand out artists of 2022’ - Daniel Pascoe - BBC Music Introducing in the South West
