Pastel formed in South Wales in late 2017, with members from the local area as well as originally Manchester and Dublin. Their first show was with Jack Perrett in November 2017, and since then have gigged and gained a sizeable following in South Wales, playing on the same lineups as bands such as Scouting for Girls, Trampolene and Pretty Vicious.
In March 2018, having only been gigging for four months, Pastel won The Wave FM's battle of the bands and the opportunity to support the chart topping Scouting for Girls that July; an experience that topped a stellar first year as a band. Since then they have sold-out a headline show at their home town of Swansea and released two singles - but it is at their live shows that you see where all the fuss comes from. There is nothing contrived about them, they exude a coolness that comes knowing how hard they've worked to come this far.
