Eilleen Regina "Shania" Twain (née Edwards) (born August 28, 1965 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada) is a Canadian singer-songwriter and actress. She has sold over 100 million records, making her one of the best-selling music artists of all time and the best-selling female artist in country music history.[2][3][4] Her success garnered her several titles including the "Queen of Country Pop".[5][6] Billboard named her as the leader of the '90s country-pop crossover stars.[7] She released her self titled debut album Shania Twain in 1993. Her third album Come On Over is the best-selling album of all time by a female musician, Second overall by any musician of the SoundScan era and the best-selling album in the history of country music.

Songfacts reports that Twain's first single in six years, Today Is Your Day debuted on the June 12, 2011 series finale of her reality television show, Why Not? With Shania Twain, and the tune was sent directly to radio stations nationwide, and made available to fans via iTunes.
