American born Skrillex (aka Sonny Moore) is a DJ, Musician, Songwriter, Singer and Record Producer.
In the early days he was a member of First to Last as the lead singer before starting his solo career in 2007.
In 2009 following the release of the Gypsyhook EP Moore had been scheduled to record his debut studio album, Bells however he ceased recording, choosing to begin performing under the name Skrillex, announcing this with the My Name Is Skrillex EP for free download on his official MySpace page.
2011 saw Skrillex nominated for 5 Grammy Awards and winning nominations at the 54th Grammy Awards, Best Dance/Electronica Album, Best Dance Recording, and Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical. Over the years he has won 8 Grammy Awards in total.
Later that year he was also nominated for the BBC’s Sound of 2012 and was named MTV's Electronic Dance Music Artist of the Year.
He has collaborated with many artists including Diplo, Missy Elliott and Boys Noize
In 2017, Skrillex produced and mixed 8, the eighth studio album by rock band Incubus. In July 2017, Skrillex released another single featuring debuting solo artist Poo Bear.
In 2019 he collaborated with Poo Bear, and Hikaru Utada on an opening song for the video game Kingdom Hearts III, Face My Fears.
Skrillex is a regular on the festival scene performing at Creamfields, DLDK, Electric Castle and more.
