Biography

Before music, it was dance. From ballet, to tap, to b-boying. In every way Zach is a dancer making music. From the age of 8 he was playing drums in punk bands. By 11 he was DJing. 15 he was on FM airwaves, and by 16 holding a residency at Dallas’ biggest teen night of which became the epicentre for a dance movement he led called Dallas Boogie. Meanwhile, Zach attended a performing arts high school where he got a formal training in music. Putting these things together he began producing. First for rappers and eventually under his own monikers within electronic music. However, the real right of passage came in the form of producing an entire album for Erykah Badu. He did the whole thing in his bedroom studio at his mother’s house in Dallas. Not only was it pivotal in opening doors, but monumental in his learning of what artistry really means from the master herself. From there he spent time working with André 3000, Frank Ocean, and more recently, Nile Rodgers. With their encouragement, he began using his own voice and crafting his own records in the Prince tradition of playing every instrument and writing every lyric himself. The future only knows what beautiful madness awaits. It's time to Witness.
