Albany are a four piece, powerful indie rock band from Lincoln with a rough edge and one unanimous passion - to resurrect the anthemic British guitar appeal.

Written by Matt Duke, Albany's songs are set on delivering the notion that 'all great songs tell a story,' and with the bands' broad scale of influences brought to the table, ranging from Arctic Monkeys, Stereophonics, Foals and The Charlatans, mixed with the other side of the pond in Nirvana, Green Day and Kings Of Leon, their songs do exactly that - hit you with a relatable meaning.

After releasing their first six-track EP 'Lead The Way' back in June 2015, Albany went on to play a number of gigs including alongside Scouting For Girls at Mudfest in Newark, a headline slot at The Shed in Leicester and twice at The Fiddler's Elbow in Camden.

Following the positive reception of 'Lead The Way,' Albany then went on to record a live session in the Summer of 2016 for BBC Introducing in Lincolnshire and then in March 2017, the band were selected to play alongside Marsicans and local band The Ultraviolet. This was part of the plugged sessions, run by BBC Introducing at the Engine Shed in Lincoln and was the perfect way to finish promoting their first record.

2017 proved to be another notable year for the band, with their long awaited, highly anticipated second EP 'Outside The Lines,' released in May. Following the footsteps of Arctic Monkeys and Reverend & The Makers, recording at 2Fly Studios in Sheffield, the new six track 'journey' illustrated an obvious evolved and perfected sound, quite rightly raising their game in 2017 and exposing them right into the industry's spotlight they deserved - most notably being asked to support The Total Stone Roses in July, again at The Engine Shed in Lincoln.

With a modern take on the 90's guitar movement and roughened up around the edges from the punk side of their peers, 'Outside The Lines' perfectly defined their collective sound as a band. Promoting their newly released EP, the band kicked off a tour with a couple of hometown gigs in Lincoln, before moving out further afield to opening Fake Festival Chesterfield to an eager and sweaty crowd. The band also made their long awaited debut appearance in Nottingham, to which fell upon open ears and an enthusiastic reception. Albany were also selected as BBC Introducing's 'Track Of The Week,' in the Summer with the Euphoric closing track 'Impossible Dream,' and so in 2017 the band took a big step up into securing their place in being one of Lincoln's best acts.

Closing the year with an unfortunate set back of replacing their rhythm guitarist, Albany played their last couple of gigs of the year at home in Lincoln, including a charity event at the Engine Shed Platform and their very popular residence within The Rogue Saint.

Having signed with SoundHub Records in Belper, studio plans booked in May with subsequent releases and a number of festivals confirmed, Albany have a very busy year ahead of them.....
