Ana Silvera is a London-born singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose folk and bluegrass-tinged tunes are lyrical, intimate and emotive, works of ‘lavish, vivid imagination’ (Metro). This concert is part of a tour in support of Ana’s new studio album, ‘The Fabulist’ (“riveting” - Bandcamp; “extraordinary” - Folk Radio) recorded with award-winning producer Gerry Diver (BBC Folk Awards, Mercury Prize). The album title, meaning ‘teller of fables’, speaks to Ana’s love of story-telling, each song a vignette, a poignant snapshot in time that deftly weaves poetry and melody with sublime effect.
Over the past decade, Ana has collaborated with notable British contemporaries including Imogen Heap, Olivia Chaney, Jim Moray, Bill Laurance (Snarky Puppy), Maya Youssef, Aidan O’Rourke (LAU) and Alan Hampton (Fiona Apple, Andrew Bird). She has performed at prestigious venues and festivals including SXSW, Royal Opera House (UK) and Iceland Airwaves and most recently was featured as an official showcase artist for Folk Alliance International, Montreal. She has toured extensively in the UK and Europe, and has won plaudits from press and radio including The Guardian, BBC Radio 6 & 3, NDR and SWR.
