Andi Durrant is one of Europe’s most respected champions of electronic music. A multi-award winning broadcaster who’s interviewed everyone from The Prodigy to Daft Punk, The Pet Shop Boys to Pendulum, Calvin Harris to High Contrast, Deadmau5 to David Guetta. Andi was the youngest ever winner of the Radio Academy Gold award, being named the UK’s Best Music Broadcaster in 2008. Since then he’s gone on to win many further accolades and presented flagship national radio programmes for Kiss, Capital and Galaxy in the UK, Nova Australia and over 40 stations in 18 countries around the world.
As a DJ he’s been lucky enough to play festival stages across the globe and held residencies at some of the worlds best clubs and venues. His Electrik Playground events in London, Leeds, Sheffield and Ibiza were a showcase for more underground artists, but he’s equally at home as the support DJ for acts like Example, Dizzee Rascal or Professor Green.
Andi has over 130 releases and remixes to his name. He’s produced numerous top 5 records and worked on music for Armin van Buuren, Will I Am, Jennifer Lopez, Steve Aoki, Plan B, Far East Movement, Alex Metric, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Jacques Lu Cont and many more. As one half of Riley & Durrant he was at the heart of the “superclub” era playing at legendary parties like Cream, Gatecrasher and Godskitchen, alongside Space and Amnesia Ibiza, and a 2 year residency with Tiesto at Privilege. Riley & Durrant released 5 compilations, an artist album and numerous TV and film soundtracks.
In 2013 Andi Durrant and Nick Riley set up Distorted - now the worlds biggest producer of electronic music radio programmes, making and syndicating international shows for artists and brands like deadmau5, Don Diablo, Paul Van Dyk, Defected Records, EDX, Claptone, Sister Bliss, Roger Sanchez, Solardo, Chicane, Alok and many more. Distorted makes over 70 programmes and podcasts for Sirius XM, iHeart, Fun Radio, Slam, Kiss, British Airways, Spotify and over 400 radio stations around the world.
In 2021 Andi created the Dance Music Archive. What started as a lockdown passion project spiralled quickly into something much bigger. It’s now a hugely popular website bringing together 30 years of electronic music history through DJ mixes, live sets, flyers, festival broadcasts, lost tapes, blogs, artwork, magazines and forgotten recordings. Andi has recently launched the Dance Music Archive radio show, airing every Sunday evening from 7pm across the UK on Kisstory.
