Article DnB is an avid DJ and producer from Essex. Maintaining a firm grasp to his original Irish and cockney roots, he has been brought up in and around music for his entire life. His father was a keen bass player and tried to get Article to share his passion. Searching for other ways to get his fix, however, Article discovered the underground world of pirate radio in 1995 at the age of 11 when listening to Chicago House and UK Garage, Jungle and Happy Hardcore. He was hooked; he knew from then on he wanted to become a DJ.
His dedicated following to Juice 94FM from the age of 14 was catalytic to his enrolment in the EYS music course in Harlow at the Square at the age of 15 tutored by Swan E and Ellis Dee. They taught him the ways of music production and the rest, as they say, was history.
The year of 2000 saw Article go to his first rave Telepathy and break through into the pirate radio scene. Bagging his first show on East London’s Blaze at the tender age of 16, he then went on to broadcast on the legendary DeJa Vu FM (his childhood dream) along with Flava Fm, Chillin Fm, Y2K Essex, Duty Free FM Cyprus and OriginUK.net (formerly Origin FM) studying hard and perfecting his production skills along the way. The years 2004 to 2010 saw him play at various free parties and festivals in the UK, France and Cyprus. December 2008 saw the launch of his event BassQuake in Harlow, where he performed alongside Kenny Ken, Shabba D, PFM, Stormin, Eva, Dubsy, Joe 90 and Yardi in front of a crowd of 1500.
After taking a break from performing at events and on radio and promoting, he is back in his studio working everyday on his back catalog of bootlegs and his own unique and fresh sounding Drum and Bass, Jungle and House music. Remaining in keeping with that original mid 90s London sound while adding his own unique flair, in 2014 he was nicknamed ‘London Sound’ at the UFOT underground free festival in France when he played a marathon set from 6am until 2pm, the only artist showcasing the sounds of UK Jungle, Hardcore and Drum and Bass all the way from 1991 to 2014 at an event that was predominantly French Core. It later came to his knowledge this was in fact in front of a crowd of 45,000. When he dropped ‘T Power vs MK Ultra Mutant Jazz’ a raver from the crowd ran up to the stage, plugged in his mic and started MC’ing in French. Little did Article know this was one of the biggest Hip Hop artists from Paris.
Watch out for his first and second releases forthcoming On Reformed Recordings in April and May 2017, supported by VIPER, Artificial Intelligence, Kenny Ken, Dutchie and DJ Tiny,
