Formed in the summer of 2015, Battalion are a five piece indie rock band from Sunderland. The line-up consists of Richard Smedley (vocals), Charlie Muller (lead guitar), James O’Brien (guitar), Mike Wilson (bass) & Rye Wilson (drums).

From humble beginnings rehearsing in a disused flat, still furnished with authentic 70’s carpet and artex walls, Battalion’s brand of anthemic indie rock is already grabbing people’s attention.

The line up came together from other North East bands as they disbanded and went their separate ways. This brought a variety of influences that were moulded into the energetic wall of sound recognisable as that of Battalion.
