Born in the late disco age ‘79, Beduk started to sing and play bass in his high school’s music band. They gave him a fretless bass. It was the first time he was even touching a real bass guitar. He couldn’t imagine what a fretless bass can be. So he worked hard and managed to play at the gigs (with lots of mistakes) This was his second time standing embarressed in front of a crowd. The first time was the vocal band in preliminary school. He was kicked out because the teachers said his voice is different and standing out from the others. But he didn’t give up. Although at that times he didn’t knew that difference is the thing that will take him to the next level. At the second grade of high school he was accepted as the lead vocal and the rythm guitar player at a local death metal band called Desecrate. He was so detuned at the normal vocals, so he did brutal vocals :) As a high school student his musical and lifestyle tastes were changing. His Seattle style grunge taste, lead him to put up a band together and called themselves Juice. He started to sing in local rock clubs in his home town Ankara. By the time, they got more popular. They were putting up 4 shows in a week in different clubs. He was 18 now. He entered the national college exam and ofcourse...failed. Second year he managed to get a scholarship from Bilkent University Graphic Design Faculty. 4 years he studied days and sang at nights. He got into several different bands untill he got together with his friends to perform his songs live on stage. They called themselves PORSELEN. As Porselen they played several shows untill Beduk decided to walk alone as a singer- songwriter in Istanbul. He got a daytime job as an art-director in a well known advertising agency. By the time, he got signed as an artist with Irem Records. After one year he released his first album called “Serhat - Nefes Almak Zor†It was more of a pop-rock album all produced by himself with the help of the record company. His full name is Serhat Beduk. You can easily hear the rock band influences from his past in that album. It was the first level for him to catch his own sound. Plus Turkey’s music market needs lead him to a different sound than he really wants. But still, he and a little crowd think that it’s a great album. Took 4 videos managed to release 2 of them in his home country. Attended several national live TV shows. That first album made him understand that “in real life†music is not just music. There are lots of variables and obstacles to came on your way going on the right direction in your music. Getting bored of the “music biz†he decided to run his own record company called “Audiology Recordsâ€. Audiology is a medical science that deals with the quality of hearing. (It’s obvious why he picked that name) with a motto of “fine music for fine people with fine people†he immediately started to work in his own studio for the next album. He did all the vocals, back vocals, recording, mixing, producing, arrengement, remixing; played all the instruments you can hear, art directed his photo shoot, designed his website and the leaflet of the album. It’s an actual “ONE MAN SHOW†while the recordings were going on, he sent one of his trax to “Miller Music Factory†and awarded as the best dance music producer with the project name of SISTAMATIK and the track “Like Tomorrow Will Never Come†which you can find in the 3rd track of his latest album “EVEN BETTER†His musical taste lead him to more of a dance floor type of music. He professionally mixed all of his musical background into this catchy, strong, outstanding, easygoing dance album including 9 English, 4 Turkish and 2 Remix trax. Enjoy the ride...
