LIPA undergraduate Ben Brown has become the first British student to be awarded the London 2012 Inspire Mark.
The musician received the Olympics’ official seal of approval for a song he recorded with the help of 65 young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Second year student Brown, who is from Southport and attended Range High School in Formby, based the song Balloons on a poem he wrote at the age of eight and is now hoping it will be included in the Games soundtrack.
