Currently based in Reading, DJ BINQX, born Marino Samanides, is known for his energetic set of tracks and sensual sets.
After discovering the popular 90s Hip-Hop scene as a teenager, Marino began to compose as a way of learning about the music popular at the time. Growing up in Cyprus, the tourism club scene slowly exposed him to electronic and house sounds, until he bought his first decks and taught himself how to mix.
Marino’s first big transition came after a trip to Ibiza where the industry’s most sought-after DJs acted as groundbreaking influences on the type of music he would produce later on. However, it wasn’t until moving to the UK to study Law that Marino saw the biggest transformation in his style. The ever-growing house music scene and London and Manchester’s biggest venues with the hottest line-ups couldn’t not leave a lasting impression on him. As a young and aspiring DJ, he continued to self-educate himself and produce music regularly.
Soon he was invited to become a resident at Guaba Beach Bar, voted 15th best club by DJ Mag, which is where he’s been engaging crowds for the past two years. Opening for top international DJs, his residency acted as a platform for future gigs such as the Cyprus Full Moon Dance Festival and Tech-à-Tête Festival, raising donations for charitable causes.
Presently, Marino is behind Manchester’s new deep-house movement, What’s That Track?, and is constantly working towards a number of new releases to share with music lovers far and wide.
He is currently working towards a number of new releases that will be up soon.
