Biography

Glasgow based enigmatic duo, singer-come-mechanical scientist Amandah Wilkinson (formally Operator Please) and ex Dananananaykroyd drummer/ BBQ restaurateur John Baillie Jnr, Bossy Love aren’t your typical RnB/Pop pair.

Lauded by critics as ‘one to watch’ after they self released tracks ‘Sweat It Out,’ and ‘Body’ last year, both quickly earned the band a dedicated following.

The powerful debut single that followed, ‘Want Some’ released on Nightwave’s tastemaker label Heka Trax this March treated listeners ears to their next dose of ‘tropical R&B’ meets hard hip hop beats, with remixes from the label boss herself and Big Dope P (Ninja Tune / LuckyMe). Securing plays across BBC Radio 1Xtra, Beats 1, Kiss FM as well as a whole lot of love from the blogosphere; Dummy, Fader, Clash, Earmilk, GOLDFLAKEPAINT and more all boarding the Bossy train.

Live Bossy Love are a force to be reckoned with. Experienced touring artists they come without trepidation ready to convert the new and excite the faithful. Creamy sounds, samples and lyrics delivered with a zero-fucks magnetic punk attitude, “It’s a brave band that allows Bossy Love to open for them. Pure heat from the very first bar, the Glaswegian trio transform a sparse, early doors crowd into a fully fledged front row dance party.” - The Skinny
