Having been in the UK hip-hop game for a good 20 years or so under a number of different aliases, Manchester rapper Burgundy Blood can't be accused of not putting in serious work for the scene, but in the past couple of years he’s seen his stature rise to new levels.
Season One, available for free download from his Bandcamp alongside follow up EP Icicles of Blood, paved the way for his debut album Suede Crates, released on revered UK label Heavy Crates last year. It’s an absorbing 36 minute listen which was re-released as a deluxe remix package by the label, and was also followed an hour long film titled Suede Comet (starring Kool Keith among others) which is available to watch here… https://youtu.be/XwbpqGyfg-Q.
Coinciding with this new found momentum, Blood recently supported none other than Wu-Tang Clan on their recent tour of the UK and West Coast hip-hop crew Dilated Peoples at London’s XOYO.
