Watchtone are a Newcastle-based trio led by Chris Meredith on fiddle who’s progressive music is captivating the festival audiences of England and Scotland. Their dynamic arrangements are driven forward by the effectual playing of Guitarist Graeme Armstrong. In addition to an already winning combination of guitar and fiddle, the euphonic melodies of jazz saxophonist Mercedes Phillips complete this innovative ensemble. This year Watchtone received great acclaim for their new EP at all the festivals they performed at including: Aberdeen International Youth Festival, The Hexham Gathering, Middlewich Folk and Boat Festival, Dunbar Traditional Music festival and Otley Folk Festival. 2015 will be kicked started with their Debut Album ‘Changing Times’ and with a European tour in the pipeline they are set to blow 2015 out of the water.
