Chris Ostler, has the sort of voice you want to hear for it’s power, range and versatility and want to come back for more every time. He brings a creative approach that really loads his songs with a range of melodies, full of dynamic energy. He also enjoys sharing the emotions that make up each of his songs within his lively performances. Having a wide array of influences, he’s now ready to “paint the city walls with music” whatever the genre.
Young and vibrant at the age of 22, he is rarely fazed by the size of a crowd after playing to many appreciative audiences within the Midlands and South West area. Originally from Exeter, Chris studied at Exeter College and then went on to his Music, Technology and Performance degree in Leicester.
Midway through his degree, Chris produced his first five track EP, “Show me the World” which was self-written, self funded, self produced with a kind helping hand from his dear friend, Paul Spencer, at Abel Studios. Chris wrote all the tracks, arranged the pieces and then played all the instruments as well as singing his lyrics with harmonies and backing vocals. He is now ready with many more new songs just waiting in the wings between gigs.
Chris has continued collecting more musical accolades and is beginning to take off in real style. As well as opening for Joan Armatrading, performing twice at the Midlands Glastonbudget festival, singing for the Exeter city football club and being a regional winner in Open Mic UK, Mama Stone's owners Wendy and Jonathan Joseph have chosen Chris as one of two new artist to join the Mama Stone's family. As a result of Chris's connection with Mama Stone's, Chris has also opened for guitar guru Martin Barre and performed at the Exeter Chiefs grounds in front of a crowd of over 8,000. He is now one of two featured artists, performing in the headline position, fronting the Mama Stone's House Band for the 2013 Exeter Food Festival. Where does it all stop?
You can catch Chris regularly on the Mama Stone's stage. Be prepared for a night of funky, rock and soul, with a touch of the blues! You are in for a musical treat….
