Chris Spedding (born 17 June 1944 in Staveley, Derbyshire, as Peter Robinson and renamed Christopher John Spedding by his adoptive parents) is an English rock and roll and jazz guitarist, best known for his session work. Amongst the bands with which he has played are Pete Brown & His Battered Ornaments, the pioneering British jazz-rock band Nucleus, and British rock band Sharks. In 1975 Spedding had a Top 20 solo hit in the UK with "Motorbikin'". As a session musician he played on Harry Nilsson's breakthrough album, Nilsson Schmilsson, recorded in London.
