Biography

The Cimarons came together in 1969 and they were the UK’s very first self-contained indigenous reggae band.

Born in Jamaica, the Cimarons migrated to Britain in 1967 with a lineup consisting of Franklyn Dunn (bass), Carl Levy (keyboards), Locksley Gichie (guitar).

The band was a big inspiration for many reggae artists in the UK. They worked with some of the greatest reggae stars ever such as Bob Marley, Jimmy Cliff, Toots and the Maytals, Ken Boothe, Lee Scratch Perry, Alton Ellis and many other greats!
