Circulus is verging on the indescribable. An ensemble that rose to a brief period of fame around a decade ago, their front man – lutenist and guitarist Michael Tyack – was actually the first lute duo partner of our very own Ben Salfield!
With Ollie Parfitt on keyboards and analogue synthesizers, George Parfitt on percussion, and guest Jennifer Bliss-Bennett on bowed strings, recorders and flutes, Circulus is a sort of psychedelic medieval, renaissance and baroque group that aims not at authenticity but at a shamanic sphere where modern and old worlds exist simultaneously.
