Formed in Brighton in the early 1990s, David Devant and his Spirit Wife are a art rock/glam-pop band that named themselves after the English magician and early film exhibitor, David Devant.

Renowned for live shows that originally included ‘music hall’-style props, the band has recently toned down its stage performances but still tours regularly. The band’s lead singer – The Vessel – also performs on his own under the pseudonym “Mr Solo”.
