Deaf School are the late 1970s seminal English art school band. Originating at Liverpool College of Art their style is somewhere between glam, punk, burlesque, pop and art rock. A bridge between pre-punk and New Wave Deaf School were always hard to define flying in the face of conventional pop rock description. Marrying the dazzlingly theatrical, deeply romantic with good old rock & roll they were always a bridge between the arty collegiate crowd and down-to-earth scousers. Incorporating everything from 60’s Pop and mid-70’s Glam to pre-war Berlin cabaret their live shows are legend. Deaf School was always the best show in town.
