Derek Eynon, Born Birmingham December 7th 1957. Took up guitar and bass whilst at Solihull Sixth Form College. Formed first band as bassist/vocalist with Mark Evans (guitar) and David "Brisky" Buxton. Band had various names at bedroom/garage stage, settling on Stuka before the first public gig at Hatchford Brook Youth club, Solihull, on June 7th, 1977. Keyboard player Neil Churchill was added before the next gig at the Mason's Arms, Solihull in 1978, and another name change to The Smoking Beagles.
