Remi Vibesman discovered an interest in music aged 9 at the Festac 77 month long Festival, known as the World Black and African Festival of Arts and Culture held in Lagos, Nigeria. The month-long event showcased over 16,000 participants, including Stevie Wonder and a percussionist whom he would finally meet in person 35 years later in Hastings, the Los Twangueros percussionist Nana Tsiboe.
Remi Vibesman has previously been the proprietor of WaxCity Music, a vinyl recorded store in London as well as record labels owner Big Cheese Records, Freshmess on Wax & Phat Vibes Recordings. He has worked as a recording artist and featured on several daytime playlist on radio stations such as Kiss FM and Jazz FM receiving heavy airplay by the likes of Massive Attack & DJ’s David Rodigan & Soul II Soul pioneer Jazzy B. Remi Vibesman is now the main driving force behind local events collective HiddenBeach.
