Biography

Donovan Blackwood is a Soul singer who is well known in his field and has supported, Aswad & Jocelyn Brown, sung backing vocals with the likes of Lionel Richie, Tina Turner, James Morrison and many others.

He returns with a new 5 track ep called' Break My Back', released December 2nd 2016 available from iTunes and CD Baby. The UK Soul star sounds in a similar styles and has been compared to the likes of, Seal, Sean Escoffery, Terence Trent D'Arby, in other words UK soul with a bit of an edge.

Donovan is featured on the latest UK Soul #1 album by 'The British Collective' entitled 'The Renaissance Begins' where Donovan Blackwood can be heard on the track, 'Won’t You Come Over' which also features Roachford, Don-e, Noel McKoy, Errol Reid, Sinclair and Junior Giscombe. So, it was only fair to exchange some input on to his new EP, Junior (Mama Used To Say) Giscombe co-wrote, 'We Had Moments' with Donovan Blackwood, and the remaining tracks he wrote and produced himself.

Donovan Blackwood loves performing live and many of you might have seen him as the lead singer with the band, Heatwave, which he has done for many years in the UK, alongside Keith Wilder.
