Born and raised in Atherton, M46, I started rapping under the name Leyland, and now go by the Artist name, D.rossi. The names sentimental and carries a meaning, as does my music. My music is 100% real rap but is also influenced by a lot of other genres. Wether it be trap, grime, abstract or even drill, I always look to draw people in with lyricism and complex flows. A comedic approach is also taken with some tracks, but more time I’m quite serious and intimate with what I’m saying, I perform on a very personal level. My biggest single influence would have to be Eminem, Mr slim shady. He wasn’t the first rap artist I listened to, however he made the biggest impact and motivates me to be on that level. The first rap artist I listened to was Young mc, his track ‘Know how’ was the first song I learned word for word. I’d spit it in the car with my mum when I was younger, she had it on a head kandi CD along with Sugar bear ‘Don’t scandalise mine’ .Will smith, The black eyed pees, 50 cent, snoop, biggie and pac. Nate dogg, Royce da 5’9, Black thought and the Wu tang. Theres so many more but all these artists especially influence my style and have helped me grow and develop. Same goes for STUDIO88. From the first day I booked in up until now the team have showed me nothing but love and support. Xeph the engineer especially, my man is always getting involved and throwing ideas about. Certi on the keys also. I wouldn’t be performing if it wasn’t for Darius, got a lot of time and respect for him for sharing his knowledge and assisting the growth. My aim is to reach the top. To be established within the industry and have a proper career, bring all my brothers with me also. I’ve got quite a large discography but the tracks to look out
for are ‘Spectrum’ and definitely ‘Personal’ it’s gonna go off live. It goes a lil something like this...
