I started performing music live as a solo artist in late 2015 and decided to find myself a band which went under the name Dylan Kirk and the Killer Combo with Richard Gunson on bass and Stix Outrams on drums. My goal at this point was to try and get onto the Rockabilly scene however, there was not much growth or recognition from the promoters I wanted to be recognised by, maybe because my set contained cliché Rockabilly numbers.
I knew a lot of obscure rockabilly tunes so I decided to change my setlist up a bit by adding these tracks which made a difference to where we performed. we got booked for hemsby which was a dream of mine come true. at this time we decided to shorten our name as we believe that Dylan Kirk and the Killer Combo wasn't catchy enough and thought it was far too long. so we changed it to D.K and the Killers. we have since went on to do a lot of stuff involved with the rockabilly scene but somehow I still thought it wasn't enough or I still thought I needed to get further. during this time my original band left due to work commitments which is understandable however thank you Richard and Stix for being a big contribution to why I'm playing music now couldn't of done it without you. Also s big thank you to (Tony Ace, James Carey) and (Danny Brown, James Cook) for filling in for me.
I later finally decided on a name so I changed it too Dylan Kirk and the Killers. because I wanted people to see what my name really was so they didn't get confused. I have done quite a few gigs in the year 2018 but have been booked for festivals like; The Rockabilly Rave, Rhythm Riot and many more for 2019
Now you have came to the final part of my story, I have been on the search for a permanent band for a very long time and I'm excited to tell you that I have a band sorted for the year 2019. with a brand new rhythm section, A killer new setlist with a more sleazy feel to it, this will include some of my own numbers.
Plans for Vinyl and Cd for 2019 so watch this space!! it will sure not be for the faint hearted
