Elliot Frost is an Australian jazz guitarist, composer and bandleader who has called London home since 2019. His work has seen him perform original music at various prestigious venues and events in his native city such as the Perth International Jazz Festival, the Perth Corner Pocket Festival, The Ellington Jazz Club and the Perth Concert Hall. He's also been on the bill for live gigs in the US, Italy and Bulgaria.
While living in Perth (or Boorloo, to refer to it by its indigenous name), he completed a Bachelor of Music degree with Honours at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) - where his thesis on Gilad Hekselman’s use of polyrhythm and phrasing was awarded a high distinction. He benefited from the tutelage of Jamie Oehlers, Tom O’Halloran and Daniel Susnjar at WAAPA, before learning from the likes of Lage Lund, Mike Moreno, Matthew Stevens, Ben Monder and the aforementioned Gilad Hekselman in New York City.
Since relocating to London, Elliot has formed his own quartet with some of the most exciting musicians around including Jonathan Chung, Calum Gourlay and Corrie Dick. He's also already featured with his group at renowned venues and events such as The Vortex, Oliver’s Jazz Bar and Sofar Sounds. In May 2023, he released his debut album 'New Surroundings' courtesy of AMP Music & Records. Besides being a bandleader, Elliot is also an active sideman on the London jazz scene.
