7-piece force of nature, delighting in all that is sublime and sub-frequency

Family Ranks are a seven-piece band who exploded into being in 2014. United by a love of music and originality, this home-grown collective have created a fresh, unique sound which defies definition. Uncompromising in their approach, they have birthed their own vision, dipping into the genres of soul, funk, hip hop and reggae. With insightful lyrics, killer harmonies and addictive hooks, their debut EP 'Speak Up' is not to be missed.

They have recently supported Natty on his 'Release The Fear' UK Tour, played at the Craig Charles curated ‘Mostly Jazz Festival’ and have also performed at notable Manchester venues such as Band on The Wall and Deaf Insitute as well as performing at events such as The Craig Charles Funk & Soul Club, ILuvLive and Sounds From the Other City.

After radio play on BBC Introducing Manchester, their first single ‘Hard To See Her Soul’ was selected for BBC Introducing on Radio 1Xtra and playlisted for the month of April 2016. After the success of the single, the band released their EP 'Speak Up' on 11th April 2016 which has received great attention from both fans and critics. ‘Hard To See Her Soul’ and ‘She’ also received airplay on Tom Robinson’s Introducing show on BBC Radio 6 Music in 2016. This was followed by a sold out headline show at Deaf Institute in Manchester in August. They will be joining the Craig Charles Funk and Soul Club for two dates in September and October 2016.
