Feargal Mostyn-Williams is the first countertenor to become a Young Artist at the National Opera Studio.
He made his debut in the title role of Andrei Tchaikowsky’s The Merchant of Venice for Welsh National Opera at the Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff.
He recently completed a Masters at the Royal College of Music studying with Russell Smythe, where he was as an RCM Scholar supported by the Yvonne Wells Award, the Sylvia Harris Fund and the Josephine Baker Trust. Prior to this he was a choral scholar at King’s College Cambridge.
Current and future projects include Unulfo (cover) Rodelinda for English National Opera, the world premiere of The Judas Passion - Sally Beamish with the OAE, The Messiah in York Minster and Arundel Cathedral.
His roles at the National Opera Studio are Orfeo - Gluck, Orfeo ed Euridice and Angel 1/The Boy - Benjamin, Written on Skin. NOS scenes with Opera North included Bertarido Rodelinda and Orlando Orlando. Scenes with Scottish Opera will include The Astrologer The Golden Cockerel, Rimsky-Korsakov.
