Bishops Castle, Shopshire, England. (2004 - Present)
Fight The Bear all grew up in rural Shropshire in the small villages around Bishops Castle. Having first met as early as primary school they were all freinds before they had even picked up instruments. After growning up in a small town that lives for music it seemed inevitable that they would end up playing in a band together, as do most youngsters surrounded by music.
It was the summer of 2004 that singer Jonny Keeley, guitarist Jamie Furber, bassist Ben Beddoes and drummer Duncan Burns first started writing original music together. drawing influence from early Red Hot Chili Peppers and californian punkers Sublime.
In 2005 they Recorded they're first EP which led to they're debut gig funded album entitled "Gutter Love". Still unsigned, unpublished and being funded only by their gigs, they could only afford to order runs of 100 CD's at a time. But nevertheless this album was carried to every gig and every corner of the country.
It was nearly 4 years and around three hundred gigs later untill the band managed to raise enough money to get back in the studio, and in January 2009 the band packed everything into the van and spent six weeks in the welsh hills up at Foel Studio. It was a further 8 months untill they went back to the studio, added the finishing touches and mixed the album. In December 2009 they release their second independant album entitled "Dead Sea Fruit" this album represented the unique sound and songwriting style the band had developed in the time after they're first album. Moving towards a far more undefineable sound and genre.
