Leading Austrian guitarist and multiple prizewinner Florian Palier is known for his dynamic and exciting style of performance, as seen across Europe, the United States and in Taiwan. He studied guitar initially with his father, the renowned Johann Palier, and later with Marco Diaz Tamayo. After graduating in Vienna, he took masterclasses with Pepe Romero, Dusan Bogdanovic and others.
While he is best known as a classical guitarist, Mr. Palier is also highly experienced jazz guitarist, and has collaborated with artists from the electronic music scene. When he is not touring, he teaches guitar at the Graz Conservatory in Austria.
One of the joys of Florian Palier's concerts is the variety of programme he performs, and the fact that he can make a contemporary sonata sit comfortably with a Bach fugue. He mixes classical repertoire by such composers as Barrios with pieces by Dowland... and adds in a couple of his own compositions too.
