THE Consort made their London debut at the Wigmore Hall in 1978, and since then have devoted themselves to performing some of the most challenging music suitable for vocal ensemble.
This has led to their presenting very varied and unusual programmes embracing, for example, both Monteverdi and Verdi and extending to include mediaeval song and a wide range of 20th century music. At the same time they have maintained a special interest in the music of Gesualdo and his contemporaries.
