Born and based in the famous town of Nottingham, UK, current and upcoming artist Glacci is not unlike the area's beloved Robin Hood character. He takes a concoction of rich sounds, transforms them into maximalist, surrealistic productions, and hands them out for fans of experimental electronic music to enjoy.
Inspired by a unique blend of UK Grime, Glasgow's J-dilla inspired 'Wonky' scene and Bristol's 'Purple' sound, Glacci's jittering drum rhythms and dream-like synths are earning vehement support on the electronic music circuit.
His first official EP, Sapphire, was picked up by Plastician for Terrorhythm Recordings. It was released late 2013 with fellow producer Parkinson White. A then relative unknown, signing to Terrorhythm immediately placed Glacci on a roster of veterans, including well known artists Joker, Om Unit, Crissy Criss and Skepta. An outpouring of adulation followed the EP, resulting in popular track 'Temple' being featured on UKF Music, where its immense sound design & Zelda-samples garnered over 60,000 plays and turned surprised listeners into Glacci followers.
His latest release, 2015 EP Tropic Freeze, was selected by emerging Dutch independent label Paradisiaca Recordings, whose eye for fresh talent is well renowned. Joining the roster alongside established artists like DJ Sliink, Baauer, Murlo and many others, Tropic Freeze hit listeners with Glacci's bittersweet bass belters and sonic experimentation. Garnering several positive reviews, Tropic Freeze was picked up and remixed by a number of artists, including LuckyMe's Joseph Marinetti; Her Records owner DJ Double M (Miss Modular); and Lit City Trax resident Drippin.
Glacci's music has gathered mass radio support since Sapphire dropped in 2013, as well as endorsements from a plethora of established DJ's, including big names such as Plastician, Skream, Starkey, Mssingno, Joker and more. The emerging artist has also performed alongside many notable DJ's and producers, including Night Slugs founder Bok Bok and BBC Radio 1Xtra resident DJ Cable. Glacci has also collaborated on tracks with several high profile artists, with notable performances alongside Jersey Club pioneer R3ll and Norway producer Hasta.
