Heliophile is a synthpop project from Enschede, The Netherlands, founded in May 2010. Currently, singer and songwriter Gijs van Ouwerkerk is its sole member. Among his influences are bands like Diorama, De/Vision and VNV Nation, as well as the great melancholic pop songs of the 80s and the rhythmic and lyrical intricacies of the heavy metal scene.
